Billed as a place filled with black-sand beaches and lush waterfalls, it was full of trash and sketch ylooking people without jobs sitting around staring at you. The beaches were filled with trash, as were the pools beneath the waterfalls. I have traveled all over South and Central America and almost never feel intimidated or worried, but I really wasn’t sure if I would get out of this place alive. It turned out the people were pretty nice, even the ones with knives, but it was still not a pleasant experience.
